The Butterfly Palace moved to an all-new location in 2006. You might remember them being near the Welk Resort Complex on highway 165, but now you can visit them right on highway 76 across from IHOP. It's an innovative concept in natural entertainment. The new facility features two 3-D theatres, a state-of-the-art live butterfly exhibit, the Emerald Forest Mirror Maze, and an Insect Zoo.
The Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure offers an educational, interactive, and exciting adventure perfect for all ages. During the 2-hour, self-guided tour, you can watch a 3-D movie about the life of a butterfly. Then you go into a climate-controlled, botanical garden filled with over 1,000 live tropical butterflies from around the world. This is the cool part of your visit (well, actually it's pretty warm in there) where you're up-close with the butterflies while they sip some nectar and flutter through the beautiful flowering gardens.
After being nose-to-wing with the butterflies, you get to try to make your way through the Emerald Forest Mirror Maze. This is one adventure where there are twists and turns around every bend, for nothing in the maze is quite what it seems, At the end of the tour, those who are brave enough can explore the Insect Zoo. Get a close-up look at some of nature's most fascinating critters like scorpions, tarantulas, poison dart frogs, geckos, red-eyed tree frogs, and more.

Here's a helpful tip: The best time to visit the Butterfly Palace is between 12 - 3 pm because the butterflies start going to sleep around 4-ish. The Palace is open till 5 pm, but the last ticket is sold at 4:30.
