Jim Owen is back in 2011 with one of Branson's brightest--and--funniest!--morning shows. It's his 21st year in Branson!
Festivities start at 10:00 am at the Branson Mall Music Theater, but arrive about 20 minutes early for a "question & answer" session with the man himself. Jim, the creator of a famed Emmy-winning PBS tribute to Hank Williams, also wrote "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" for Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, Mel Tillis's "Too Lonely Too Long," and many other classic country hits. Indeed, much of his show honors the best of real country music and its most memorable artists.
His show features a tribute to a different Country Legend every year – this year (2011) it's country and western singer, songwriter and guitarist Ray Price. Jim will do lots of Ray Price hits like "For The Good Times," "Crazy Arms," "Heartaches By The Number" and many more. It's interesting to know that one of Jim's band members, Tom Eckert, played violin in Ray Price's orchestra for many years. Plus, one of the world's greatest guitarists, Larry Kent, joins Jim's show this year. The rest is a showcase for the unique talents of Jim himself, who we think may be one of the funniest men, period, in the U.S.A.

Good news: Jim's new location inside the Branson Mall features a flat parking lot with easy access to the theater, and seating for almost 600.
Jim's shows are at 10:00 am; April 6 through June 10 & August 24 through December 10, 2011.
Historical Notes for the Jim Owen Morning Show: In 2007, the show was at The Dutton Family Theater Complex, 3454 W Highway 76. Former cast member: Heather White. In 2008-09, Jim Owen appeared at The Clay Cooper Theatre, 2215 W Highway 76 (across from Ride The Ducks). Jim's trademark tribute segment in 2010 featured the songs of American country music singer Johnny Horton because it was the 50th anniversary of his passing. Jim will do a lot of his hits, a couple of Patsy Cline songs by Lisa Layne (the best at doing Patsy's music), and he also features Kathy Eckert, Susan Burr and Gail Lennon as the Sunshine Express. Returning to the show for her 3rd season (2010) is Jim's granddaughter Jasmyne Milheiser, a 15-year-old singing, dancing, tumbling phenomenon. She's fantastic!
